Rachel Townsend, known professionally as RTown, is a multimedia artist based in North Texas. Encouraged by her parents from a young age, she pursued formal art training and later earned a BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of North Texas.
After graduating, Townsend combined her passion for art and entrepreneurship, eventually founding RTown Art Gallery in historic downtown Grapevine, Texas. The gallery showcases her own work and features local artists, serving as a creative hub and community space. Through her art and curatorial efforts, Townsend plays a key role in supporting and enriching the North Texas art scene.
In addition to her work as an artist and gallery owner, Rachel is a proud wife and mom of three, finding inspiration daily in the beauty and chaos of family life.

Artist Statement
My work explores the butterfly effect—how small choices can shape outcomes. Without planning, I create intuitively, letting each mark guide the next. Each piece develops its own identity, even when made with the same materials. My art is a reflection of the human experience: layered, unpredictable, and shaped by choice.
